Good Afternoon Islander fans, i will update you about my recent absence sometime this week. Lets talk hockey, shall we?

Looking from pre-game skate, and from what we have recently learned- Rick DiPietro will be out due to an illness, Biron will take the bench, as i assume Roloson will start.

Mark Streit- Really looking forward to olympic break, but appears to be more concerned about a win tonight. I like that, as we all should of expected that.

Richard Park: "We got some really important things to work on." "As good as we were during that streak, we tend to forget about it"

D - Jack Hillen (jaw) –Out 6-8 weeks (1/27/10)
LW/C –Josh Bailey (upper-body) –2 weeks (2/4/10)

1st Period:

19:59- Ottawa wins the face-off.

16:28- Ottawa seems to be controlling the puck, so far.

15:30- Roloson making a highlight real save! a wrap around attempt was centered, saved. Roloson scrambling for the puck and gets hold of it. Great save!

13:44- Ottawa dominating offensively. Resulting in a Ottawa Goal. Scored by, Ruutu.

11:38- Ottawa penalty, Spezza- 2min Hooking.

9:44- 7 seconds remain on Ottawa penalty. Too much passing going on, this is most of there problems.

4:48- Ottawa controlling once again, not giving any opportunity for the Islanders offense.

4:06- ISLANDERS GOAL!!!!!! A blast from top of face-off circle, top right corner- Isles goal scored by, #57 BLAKE COMEAU!!!

3:18- Islanders getting some momentum, from last goal. Offense is striking back..

00:39- Ottawa PENALTY- #55, 2min Tripping. ISLANDERS POWER-PLAY!!!

END OF FIRST PERIOD- Score update- 1-1 Tie game.

Islanders will start off the second period with a Power-Play.

2nd Period:

20:00- Islanders win the face-off.

18:33- Islanders power-play over. I like so see Schremp, on the power-play. He does need to pass the puck though.

17:03- Roloson covering up with 17:03 remaining in the second. Islanders defense, doing a nice job clearing the crease.

16:50- Gervais doing a great job, putting puck on net. Islanders won the face-off in the neutral zone, and Gervais does the right thing putting it right on net. I like that..

14:55- ISLANDERS GOAL!!!! A great offensive play by, Matt Moulson. A nice play in the crease by Moulson, putting every effort he has to put it right over the pad. Nice assist by, Trent Hunter.

SCORE UPDATE- 2-1 Islanders.

12:17- Islanders crashing the net. I like the effort. Islanders appear to be putting it on net allot more, this period.

NOTE** If the Islanders win tonight, they will be 3 points out of 8th place.

9:48- Blake Comeau- grabbing a 2min minor for boarding. I must admit, that was a horrible hit by, Comeau. I believe #55 was the one who got hit, he appears to of gone to locker room. After assisted by, medical staff.

8:40- With the Islanders on a PK- Bergenheim coming up fast on a break-away....shooot blocker side wide. He did not get enough movement, out of the goaltender.

6:03- Comeau coming right back out of the box, after the PK. Giving a ISLANDERS GOAL!!!!! 3-1 Islanders!

4:25- Chant from the crowd "ROLI!!!" After a nice one timer save!

3:42- Roloson will not give in....making every save he can make. Looking good so far...Great save again!

1:25- #55 from Ottawa returns to the ice, after taking a boarding hit against him.

1:05- Ottawa's goal disallowed, as they take a penalty. 2min goalie interference. Islanders on the PP.

End of the second. 3-1 Islanders. Islanders will have a little under a minute of Power-Play time.

Ottawa grabs 2min minor, slashing. Islanders will grab a 5 on 3 for the begining of the third period.

3rd Period:

18:57- Islanders 5 on 3 ended. 58 seconds remain on the slashing.

16:57- Puck moving back and forth. Ottawa with a shot, saved by Roloson.

16:13- Ottawa grabs a quick goal, off of a quick shot. Right through Roloson's pads. Making the score 3-2.

12:12- Islanders Penalty: Bruno Gervais- 2min Slashing.

11:45- Kyle Okposo following through on a semi breakaway, takes a shot almost going in. Great effort made by, Kyle.

10:47- Ottawa Goal- Jason Spezza (15), picking up the rebound. Tie-ing the game now 3-3.

9:14- Ottawa Goal- Mike Fisher (20), a nice deflection in the crease. Absolutely no defense going on what so ever. They need some type of momentum shift....4-3 Ottawa.

8:22- Ottawa with a 2 on 1- Roloson grabs it with the glove, and holds onto it.

Fans with hands over their face in shame....Come on Islanders!!!!

5:26- Allot of hits being laid out, gaining some momentum. Hopefully they can pull something out...

26 seconds- Islanders grab an icing....can they do it??
